We Are 3!

j83.jpg

Fun and games for the non-toddling amongst us! Think party hats, musical chairs, pass the gargantuan parcel and all the childhood fun and frivolity!

It’ll be seven hours of DJs, one hour-a-piece, that’s an awful lotta music for one evening, and an awful lotta dancing under streamers, paper chains and sparkles.

Regress to near infancy and align yourself with Kit, Molly Parson and Gringo da Parada, our resident man on decks!

Gringo’ll bring home the samba, bossa nova, electronica, funk, breakbeats, batucada, hip hop, pop, southern rock, swing …

Plus a caipirinha to wash it all down with …

The Chicken and the Egg with Gringo da Parada, Victor Lavish, Mr Boo and Tchiky

Easter treats in store, and a battle of egos galore!  Gringo’s the father of the sound, Lavish swaps names as often as underpants (regularly, thankfully) and Boo’n Tchiky hail from the French capital of all things Eiffel and cocoa.

Gringo brings on the samba, bossa nova, electronica, funk, breakbeats, batucada, hip hop, pop, southern rock, swing and rolls the rest on …

Victor Lavishes : blue breaks, jazz swing and mambo madness amongst other garment-swapping delights

Mr. Boo streams in his own stamp of soul, disco, new wave, rockcism it’s underground electrotastic to mainstream pop all the way.

Tchiky’s style? Unlikely as you like. It’ll be baile funk, hip hop, drum ‘n’ bass, samba, house, rock and all for the love of Brazil!

Hidden Treasures - DJ Vadim’s secret album preview party.’

vadconcentrating1.jpg

Shhhh!!! DJ Vadim is releasing his highly anticipated new album later this year, and we need some video for the new release. As good an excuse for a party as any…

‘U Can’t Lurn Imaginashun’ is the name of the album, and Favela Chic in Old Street is the venue; the very first chance to preview the new DJ Vadim album and new live show featuring the very talented Sabira Jade and Lil’ Ste.

Whether you’ve been a fan of DJ Vadim’s right through his 15 year career, from his days at Ninja Tune and on to BBE Records, or you’re discovering his sounds for the very first time; you’re in for a treat; this could just be the craziest party of the year.

DJ Vadim has toured the world playing at over 1500 parties in 60 countries, and he brings the flavours he’s absorbed on his travels to this album; Soul, Dub, Reggae, Electronic, Hip hop, Funk; good old fashioned songs with a straight up party vibe; but this is a secret video shoot and the album won’t be coming out till later in the year, so for goodness sake don’t tell anyone how good the music is or how much fun you had!

To round off the night we’ll be joined by members of the infamous Foreign Beggars, as well as singing sensations, The La De Das, and we’ve even joined up with Pampero Especial Rum to offer you each a free drink on the night to say thanks for being in our video and keeping schtum! Mum’s the word!!

Le Weekend avec Gringo da Parada

It’s more of what we know and love: la camaraderie via pop, samba, bossa nova, electronica, funk, breakbeats, southern rock, swing, batucada and groove inesperado …Gringo has set the tone for many a Favela-frolicking and this Friday is no exception. The Father of Favela sound and Prince of Postonove will roll his way through tracks from all over the world most likely accompanied by a signature piece of millinery and a winsome woman. A kaleidoscope of the purest tradition and the best of cutting edge Brazilian music reflecting the chaotic but harmonious aspects of the Favela… and chic! 6 p.m. – 2 a.m.Ten pounds after 9 p.m.
