We Are 3!

Fun and games for the non-toddling amongst us! Think party hats, musical chairs, pass the gargantuan parcel and all the childhood fun and frivolity!

It’ll be seven hours of DJs, one hour-a-piece, that’s an awful lotta music for one evening, and an awful lotta dancing under streamers, paper chains and sparkles.

Regress to near infancy and align yourself with Kit, Molly Parson and Gringo da Parada, our resident man on decks!

Gringo’ll bring home the samba, bossa nova, electronica, funk, breakbeats, batucada, hip hop, pop, southern rock, swing …

Plus a caipirinha to wash it all down with …

Le Weekend avec Deany Seagulls vs Ross Clarke

rossthumbnail.jpg    dean_funny.jpg

Seagulls trips the light fantastic in fun spots of the four corners, and most notably dressing, undressing and re-dressing (himself and others) at the notorious swap of a Favela Thursday. Razzmatazzers ahoy! Dean’s dandy is notorious in clothes-swapping circles, and is oft’ found in frivolous garb, inviting all and sundry to pitch in the lunacy that kicks in on the run-up to a full moon.

He plays it straight as the crow flies, scarecrow … the cross-dressing demon of Favela’s Magnificent Seven pops in blue breaks, jazz swing and mambo madness amongst other things. It’ll be an inter-continental swoop through jazz, funk, hip hop, hybrid, raw Brazilian beats spinning over some crazy raw through soul, old skool, new wave, poptastic, baile funk, jazz, hip hop, r’n'b and in betweenies.

Le Weekend avec Monsieur Zéro and Deany Seagulls

Many moons ago, Zéro stepped in to co-found Favela Paris and the love affair continues …

It all started with a DJ residency at Sans-Sanz, in Paris’s Bastille, it was the 90s and the Zero was bit of a house maestre. In recent times Zero’s stepped forwards with more roots in funk, soul, rare groove and whatever eclectic he can get in a set!

From Jeans, to Seagulls, to Lavish, this is one chameleon of a music maestre … and he shows no signs of wanting to settle down …

Hence the repertoire that has a little something for everyone: blue breaks, jazz swing and mambo madness amongst other things. It’ll be an inter-continental swoop through jazz, funk, hip hop, hybrid, raw Brazilian beats spinning over some crazy raw through soul, old skool, new wave, poptastic, baile funk, jazz, hip hop, r’n’b and in betweenies.

Le Weekend avec Monsieur Zéro

Monsieur Zéro est de retour! He’s a much beloved résident in Paris, he’s been across the Atlantic for 365 days and now he’s back!!!

It all started with a DJ residency at Sans-Sanz, in Paris’s Bastille, it was the 90s and the Zero was bit of a house maestre. In recent times Zero’s stepped forwards with more roots in funk, soul, rare groove and whatever eclectic he can get in a set!

Zéro stepped in to co-found Favela Paris and the love affair continues …

Naturellement, the man’s also a producer and multi-instrumentalist, why would we expect any less? Ever heard of Voltair? Well, this is ‘im plus another Favela friendly Mr Tchiky Al Dente … yes, they make beautiful music together! In this instance fifteen Brazilian artists get involved and fuse hip hip and funk carioca.

So, Zéro homes in on Brazil in 2006 and steps back in a year and a half later, then goes and comes back with more soul, groove and eclecticism that you can shake a stick at … may the good times roll …

D.I.P.

dip-may1.jpg

Dirt, importance, people … and don’t let no one tell you no different!Residents Gringo da Parada and his not-quite-side-kick artist in his own right Seagulls aka Victor Lavish decadences all over the place! France and England hold hands and turn some tables, not to mention heads. So, what do they have in mind? It’s trash tunes from all over the place and across various timelines, there’ll always be a bit o’ Brazil, pop, punk, hop, funk, electro, broken beats and whatever’s in between. And keep your eyes peeled for fancy hats and pointy shoes … both parties are guilty of frivolous garb …Splash on D.I.P. cocktail to complete the inititation: Cachaça, guaranà and a smidgen of Armaniac 77 6pm – 1am Free entry
